"The higher you go, the fewer women there are"

Welcome
Welcome to Women In Criminal Law.
We are an organisation setting out to connect and promote professional women across the criminal justice sector. We will support and inspire, mentor and socialise, empower and encourage.

Prosecutors or defenders, those whose work is privately or publicly funded – you are all welcome. We all face the same structural challenges.
Never has the role of a female organisation been more important, in order to scrutinise and challenge the status quo of the hurdles that women face across the sector.

Words from our Founder
Women need to stand together, shoulder to shoulder. Working in criminal law can be a frustrating business for us. We all know the statistics, women join criminal law in droves, but just don’t rise to the top in the same numbers that men do.
But things are changing and we want to help women succeed and become the future female leaders.
We are very proud of the achievements of Women in Criminal Law so far, and hope you will join us, if you haven’t already, to help us to ensure that women are properly represented at the top levels of our professions: partnership, QC and judiciary. Our training and mentoring programmes will help you succeed and help you to help others achieve their potential. Along the way we hope you will make connections, feel supported and inspire others.

Hope to see you at our next event!
